Public Memorial & Tribute

to

Iowa Scouts

planned for

Friday Evening, June 27th

The Southwest Florida Boy Scout Council will hold a memorial & tribute to the four Iowa Scouts who died, all those who were injured and the grieving family members on Friday, June 27th at 7:00 p.m. at the Boy Scout Service Center located at 1801 Boy Scout Drive in Fort Myers.  The event will take place around the flag pole and will begin with a bugle call and flag lowering ceremony and will conclude with Taps and a release of four doves to remember the four brave Scouts.  The Public is welcome.  Scouts are asked to join us in full uniform.

We will join together to remember the Scouts and their families at this time and to recall our duty to God and country, our duty to others and our duty to self.

We want to remember those brave young men in our hearts, and thoughts and to remind everyone that, as Margret Mead once said, “Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed people can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has.”
