Wellness in the New Year
Is it well with your spirit? There are worship opportunities here for everyone with plenty of comfortable seating. The music astounds us. The messages by our Pastors enrich our lives. Is it well with your mind? Check the opportunities for learning and fellowship with each other in the many Bible studies and Sunday classes. You are most welcome to join in at any time. Is it well with your body? You are the stewards of these wonderful creations. Check the Healthy Eating Guide Food Pyramid. Notice the wide base of the pyramid includes vegetables and fruits. Vegetable requirements are 2 ½ cups or 4-5 servings a day. Fruit requirements are 2 cups or 4-5 servings a day. As the pyramid grows in height it becomes narrower. This means that the food requirements become narrower also. The amounts lessen. At the very top are foods to limit. These include red meats, butter, white bread, white rice and sweets. Take a look at the pyramid and make sure you change your meal habits accordingly. Remember also: 5-8 glasses of water a day, physical activity 30-60 minutes a day minimum of five times a week and weight control. Exercise Opportunities
