Ministry
Ministry is the operation of all programs in our church.
When you join Cypress Lake UMC you promise to support your new church family with your prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. You begin your journey in worship and small group participation.
As you become familiar with the events and people in your new church family you expand by serving in the church. You may volunteer to clean up or set up for Wednesday dinners or become a member of one of the regular committees - let your small group leader or pastor know of your interest. They will be glad to direct you.
There are many opportunities to share your time and talent either in your home or on our campus. We welcome your interest and encourage you to get involved. If you have a morning or afternoon available during the week you can help in the church office. If you have time at home you can make calls to keep in touch with members who can't get to church.
You can be a witness in the community when you lend a hand to a neighbor or co-worker who needs help. When you do this for at least one hour during the week be sure to put a "Salty Service" card in one of the pots at the back of the Sanctuary.
Matthew 5:13 “Let me tell you why you are here,” says Jesus. “You’re here to be salt-seasoning that brings out the God-flavors of this earth. If you lose your saltiness, how will people taste godliness? You’ve lost your usefulness and will end up in the garbage.”
We encourage you to give sacrificial service to the least, the last and the lost beyond our church doors. Share as Christ's disciple with costly action aimed at blessing your community for Christ.
