ESPN’s Tim Kurkjian speaks to the Red Sox/Bank of America Fenway Park Writers Series, Monday, March 20, at a pre-game box luncheon at Cypress Lake United Methodist Church.
The event, which begins at 10:30 am, costs $65, and includes a box lunch from Einstein Bros., an autographed copy of Tim’s book, and ticket to the Red Sox/Orioles game.
Tim will speak on his new book, “I’m Fascinated by Sacrifice Flies,” which follows his best-selling, “Is This a Great Game or What?”
Tim is hilarious, as a writer and speaker. He joined ESPN in March 1998 as both a reporter for Baseball Tonight and senior writer for ESPN The Magazine. He continues to provide insight and analysis through his writing and regular appearances on Baseball Tonight and other ESPN studio shows including SportsCenter. He was a senior writer for Sports Illustrated from 1989-1997, but began covering baseball as the Texas Rangers beat writer for the Dallas Morning News where he worked from 1981 to 1985. Kurkjian then covered the Baltimore Orioles for the Baltimore Sun beginning in 1986 before moving on to Sports Illustrated in 1989.
March 20 will be United Methodist Day at JetBlue Park, and the entire day is under sponsorship of the Florida Annual Conference. Florida Bishop Ken Carter (a Red Sox fan) will throw out the first pitch, and a portion of the cost will go to support FLUMC-Cuban Mission, in honor of Rini Hernandez and Thom Shafer. Don’t miss out; we have a block of 200 hundred reserved, but they will be released to the general public if they are not all purchased.
Click here to purchase your ticket online. Enter $65.00 next to the box that says “Methodist Day” to register for the game, book and lunch, or enter $45 for the game and lunch only. Choose “one time” for donation frequency, and click on “Continue.” On the next page you’ll enter your credit card or bank information.
