Support Groups

Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble.  A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken.

Support Groups exist to help people through a difficult and sometimes unexpected stage of life. Support Groups are led by understanding people who have been in a similar situation.  Support Group participants are people who are currently in need of spiritual, emotional and practical help.  All groups are confidential.  CLUMC currently offers these support groups:

Job Search Support Group

Energize your job search through personalized assistance and networking. Know you are not alone by connecting with others in a faith based setting.   Open to the community.

  • 1st and 3rd Monday of each month
  • Chapel Parlor 

Discussion topics and programs vary weekly. Examples include:

  • Resume review
  • Interview preparation
  • How to deal with procrastination 
  • Impact on the family
  • What to do while waiting
  • Mortgage and  housing issues
  • Legal rights

Find comfort and care to help you heal from your loss

GriefShare is a special weekly seminar/support group for people grieving the death of someone close. It's a place where you can be around people who understand how you feel and the pain of your loss. At GriefShare, you'll learn valuable information that will help you through this difficult time in your life.

GriefShare begins Monday September 13; 1:00 - 3:00 p.m.; for thirteen weeks.

$12 Workbook fee. Scholarships available.

DivorceCare meets each Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
