General Conference 2019

By February 21, 2019April 12th, 2019Announcements

On February 23, elected United Methodist delegates along with our bishops will gather in St. Louis, Missouri, for a called special session of General Conference. The goal of the meeting is to find a way forward through our disagreements about same-sex marriage and ordination of LGBTQ clergy.

Our congregation has participated in a Point of View (POV) conversation and discussed the options that will be presented to delegates at General Conference. Visit our Way Forward page for resources to help you understand the work of the Commission on a Way Forward.

UMC.org/GC2019 is the best source for keeping up to date with the General Conference as it happens. A live stream during the sessions allows you to watch and listen in on all of the proceedings.  You can learn more about General Conference, get trustworthy news updates, and find resources on the United Methodist Church website.

Please join us in prayer for the delegates, all those gathering in St. Louis, and those gathering in United Methodist churches, that God’s Holy Spirit may lead our conversations.
