Serve children with Reading Pals!

Inspire a love of reading! United Way’s ReadingPals literacy program matches passionate, trained volunteers with pairs of 4 and 5 year olds who need extra help. Our mission partner Gladiolus Learning and Development Center is one of the centers where volunteers serve. ReadingPals help improve children’s literacy and oral language skills. They also build meaningful relationships by providing the individual attention many kids need to thrive. Volunteers spend one hour a week reading and engaging in educational activities with a pair of students.

Interested in joining? Sign up at unitedwaylee.org/volunteer/readingpals. Church member Nancy Coker coordinates the program through the United Way, and a number of church members have been finding great fulfillment as Reading Pals volunteers. Contact Nancy with any questions at NancyC@UnitedWayLee.org.
